First Contest Entry!

5/23/2015

Hello, Happy Mango Beads! Several weeks ago I saw a FB post from this bead company promoting a jewelry design competition for turning "Trash to Treasures". One of the categories, "No Earlybirds!, called for repurposing and reusing elements found at flea markets and garage sales. I remembered that I once had a strange souvenir from a trip to New Mexico...an old animal jawbone. Someone had drilled holes in the bone, and tied dangling metal bell forms hanging from beaded leather strips into each one. I had long ago disposed of the bone, but had the dangling, beaded bells stashed in a box in my home studio. I took them apart, added other found items from some broken jewelry and abandoned projects, and here is the result!
